I've just finished one of my other projects, and so I'm hoping to get back into Go-study, starting this game. The game started out pretty bad for me, and I wasn't able to get momentum back, but there was definitely tricky stuff in the mid game. Overall, I spent too much time fighting and should have been looking for stability especially after the bad opening.
It seems that, after ignoring black's approach move (11) at R6, white didn't make use of the N16 stone (which was a big move, although, as you say, slow).
ReplyDeleteAlso, as you note, 172 isn't really a big enough ko threat to warrant black's response. Similarly, it doesn't seem like 166 is big enough. What if black just takes at T9 in response? White still can't get two eyes, can he?
